MedInfoSys®: Data Migration
Most companies have already built-up a wealth of material that is necesssary or useful for handling medical enquiries:
- Standard Letters
- Supporting reference materials – articles, SmPCs, PILs, etc
- Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) – typically shorter than Standard letters, and used when responding to telephone enquiries
- Lists of products, and other categorising lists used to define and organise information
An important aspect of a MedInfoSys® project is therefore to assess the volume of data involved and then the population of this data into MedInfoSys®:
- A data audit – seeing what data already exists, and in what formats, to assess the size of the task
- Guiding and overseeing the standardisation of categorisation and formatting into a standard format
- Designing a data migration strategy, from both a technical and process perspective (i.e. the sequence for migration of sources and record types, together with planning any cutover and testing phases)
- Where an automated process is used, inserting customer-specific data mappings into NIP’s standard migration routines
- Providing any necessary test scripts to enable users to test and ensure data integrity
